The Ice Sculpture Flask

The Bertil Vallien Ice Sculpture Flask, is a signed piece by one of Sweden’s great glass artists. Bertil Vallien designed this clear crystal decanter for Boda Åfors, decorated with a frosted, sandblasted scene of two faces in profile among curling spirals and rolling waves, like a story carved in ice. A round ball stopper crowns the slim neck.

Vallien’s work is held in museum collections around the world, and his mysterious, archaic figures are his signature. This one is engraved on the base with his name. It’s a collector’s piece that’s just as good on a bar cart filled with whisky as it is standing empty in the light.
